LWV Dedicated to Voter Service in 2010

During the 2010 election season, the LWVGB, as did the state and national Leagues, worked to encourage voting and educate citizens about the election process. This nonpartisan education effort was sponsored by the League's Education Fund. Members volunteered to register voters and contributed many hours to assist in the Voter Registrar's office. Don't forget to vote on Nov. 2!

Get informed about the candidates and amendments and let your voice be heard on Nov. 2! Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. throughout Alabama. Be sure to take identification with you. Here's the list of acceptable voter id. See these resources for more essential election information:

The League of Women Voters at the state and national levels were also intensely dedicated to voter service during the 2010 election season. The League of Women Voters of Alabama was instrumental in coordinating and presenting two Alabama gubernatorial debates, at the University of Alabama on September 16 and at Auburn University on October 19, that were broadcast state-wide on public television, public radio and streamed at al.com. The state League provided additional information on its LWVAL election webpages (also linked above on the LWVGB website). This included a voter guide for Alabama appellate courts in which all candidates participated. The League of Women Voters of the United States provided provided in-depth election information for every state at Vote411.org.
