Dear Public Service Editor:

Below are short nonpartisan statements you may want to use for your viewers or listeners as advice on voting in the Alabama Party Primary Elections on June 3, 2014. Feel free to use them as PSAs, as filler information, or in other nonpartisan placement as you may deem appropriate. Please let us know if you use any of these PSAs.

The League of Women Voters is particularly emphasizing the fact that, beginning with the June 3rd primaries, voters will be required to present a qualified photo identification in order to vote (unless 65 or older or disabled and voting absentee). Thank you for your help in informing voters about this new voting requirement.  We also want to inform the public about upcoming election dates:
  • May 23 Voter registration deadline.
  • May 29 Last day for voter to make application for an absentee ballot.
  • June 2 Last day for voter to hand-deliver or postmark an absentee ballot.
  • PRIMARY ELECTION - JUNE 3, 2014
Thank you again for your assistance in educating voters in the Greater Birmingham area.

Sincerely,

s/ Nancy Sales
Voter Services Director,
League of Women Voters of Greater Birmingham
