LWVAL logo gif Legislator Interviews, Fall 2007

Member help needed!

In Fall 2007, the LWVAL Advocacy Committee will need the assistance of League members throughout the state in interviewing their local state legislators. Through these interviews, the positions of the legislators relative to League positions are better understood. This work is fundamental to the League's Advocacy efforts in the 2008 legislative session.

Members-at-Large are especially encouraged to interview members of their local legislative deligations.  Because MALs live throughout the state in areas where there is no local League presence, their interviews will substantially broaden the knowledge base of the Advocacy Committee. So, if you are an MAL, please consider participating in this interview project. It is one of the most helpful contributions you can make as a League member. Anne Permaloff and the Advocacy Committee will assist you.

For further information please read this article by Anne Permaloff, Chair of the LWVAL Advocacy Committee, published in the Summer 2007 issue of The Voter. And if you are interested in participating in the legislative interview project in the Fall of 2007, contact your local League president or, for MALs, please contact Anne Permaloff at:  grafton_mtgy@bellsouth.net OR 334 270-0539 OR 637 Horseshoe Curve, Pike Road, AL 36064.

Here are the documents you will need to conduct an interview (but be sure to contact your local League president or Anne first as coordination and timing are crucial!):
